Health: Things No One Mention When You Are Young
When we are young, we are pestered by our parents to eat our fruits and vegetables, to get the right nutrition, to drink milk for calcium, and pulses for protein, but rarely are we taught about several other things that we should look out for and take care of. These are things we learn about through experience, but the distinction, should in fact be made right from our early ages.
Why is Zinc Important
Zinc is important for your immune system. Too little, and you risk a lot of health issues in the long run, hair loss, skin lesions among the few. There are a lot of zinc supplements that can, and must be introduced to your lifestyle, so as manage your intake, and ensure that you get the right amount.
Good Fats and Bad Fats
We know this now, but there are good and bad fats. And to cut fat out of your diet completely is not sustainable nor healthy. Understand the food component, understand your intake. Make informed healthy choices for yourself. For example, avocado is full of fats, but this fat is good for you, and your health. Deep fried food, on the other hand is not. Understand the other nutritional value your food brings to you, and at the end of the day, make sure you’re balancing your life in every way.
Diabetes Control
Blood sugar that is too high puts you at risk. Living a healthy lifestyle, by controlling your sugar intake, and eating the right kinds of food for the sweetness you desire is crucial for a long healthy life. If you do have diabetes problems, it is important to learn how your body reacts and what you can do to keep it under control.
These were just a few things that we should be more conscious about ourselves and inculcate in the next generation from a young age. Balance, and understanding of what you put into your body.
